Glacial Ember - Pal Tiya Series | One-of-a-Kind Sculptural Vessel
Glacial Ember is a hand-sculpted Pal Tiya vessel whose surface changes continuously with light, movement, and point of view.
A warm brown-bronze foundation lies beneath translucent layers of blue, green, and silver alcohol inks, creating an unusual tension between warmth and coolness. Across the deeply sculpted surface, cobalt and turquoise emerge beside teal, silver, dark shadow, and subtle warmer undertones.
The irregular ridges, folds, and crevices catch and release light as the viewer moves around the piece. From one angle, the surface can appear glacial. From another, metallic, mineral, or almost geological. The material identity never feels entirely fixed.
The final gloss archival finish intensifies this interaction with light, allowing Glacial Ember to reveal different aspects of itself from every viewpoint.
Glacial Ember reflects an evolving exploration within James Reclaims IT Studios of mystery, discovery, material transformation, and the unexpected. This is a work that cannot be fully understood from a single viewpoint.
